Troubleshooting large client files in Lacerte
by Intuit• Updated 8 months ago
Large returns present a unique challenge for the program. Their size means that they will often be slower, and can sometimes cause unexpected behaviors.
If you are having difficulty printing, calculating, locking or working in large clients, follow the steps below to resolve the issue. After each step, attempt any of the actions you were previously unable to. If the action still fails, move on to the next step.
Note: Lacerte is always installed on the workstation and the data will be on the server. As an alternate solution to moving the data, you can install Lacerte on the server and then attempt to e-file the client while logged into the server. If you are logged into the server and the files are stored on the server, this is functionally the same as moving the data local. This also provides the added benefit of everyone being able to see the status of the E-filed return and any changes that are made to the file.
