SOLVEDby Intuit2Updated 7 days ago

If you encounter "Error 105" of "Error 103" when installing EasyACCT or downloading an internet update, try the following steps below:

  1. Reboot the computer.
  2. Temporarily turn off Antivirus.
  3. Delete your temporary internet files and temp files.
  • You may delete temporary internet files and temp files using Disk Cleanup:
    1. In the search box on the taskbar, type disk cleanup, and select Disk Cleanup from the list of results.
    2. Select the drive you want to clean up (C:), and then click OK.
    3. Under Files to delete, uncheck the following if they were automatically selected by default:
      • Downloaded program files
      • Thumbnail
    4. While under Files to delete, select only the following file types, if not already selected:
      • Temporary internet files
      • Temporary files
    5. Click OK to run Disk Cleanup.
  1. Right-click on the EasyACCT download file and select Run as administrator.
  2. If necessary, reboot into Safe Mode with Networking and try again:
    1. Restart the computer and as it comes back up, press F8 until you get the Start Up menu, and select Safe Mode with Networking.
    2. Install the program and updates.
    3. Reboot back into Normal Mode.

If Safe Mode with Networking does not resolve, please contact your IT professional. Similarly, you may want to contact the support department for the antivirus program in use.

Additional Steps:

If the above does not work:

Uninstall and Reinstall EasyACCT:

  1. Run the EasyACCT installer.
  2. Select EasyACCT.
  3. Answer YES to save all possible data folders.
  4. Reboot.
  5. Install EasyACCT.

This requires modification of the Windows Registry. Serious problems may occur if the registry is modified incorrectly. Intuit strongly recommends having an IT professional make these changes if you are not comfortable with editing the registry. It's also strongly recommended to make a backup of the registry before proceeding. See here for further instruction.

If the error persists, do a Manual Uninstall:

  1. Delete the EasyACCT key in the Windows Registry:
  2. Go to Start, Run, type in Regedit, then OK.
  3. In the Registry Tree on the left side of the split screen in the Registry Editor, find the folder HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
  4. Expand the folder to find another folder named SOFTWARE.
  5. Windows 7/8 users look for a folder named WOW6432Node.
  6. Find the EasyACCT sub- folder while still under the SOFTWARE folder.
  7. Expand the EasyACCT sub-folder.
  8. Find the EasyACCT Professional Series or the EasyACCT Business Series sub-folder.
  9. Right click and Delete the EasyACCT Professional Series or the EasyACCT Business Series sub-folder.
  10. Close the registry.
  11. Rename the EASYW folder:
  12. Right-click on the Start button and choose Explore.
  13. Browse to the drive and folder where EasyACCT is installed, which is usually C:\EASYW.
  14. Right-click on the EASYW folder and select Rename.
  15. Type EASYWOLD and press Enter.
  16. Reboot.
  17. Proceed to Install EasyACCT
  18. Reboot.
  19. Reset the default Data Path:
    • Redirect the data path to the C:\EASYWOLD\yourfoldername, -or-
    • Find the data folder from C:\EASYWOLD\yourfoldername and Copy to C:\EASYW .
