Generating Form NYC-202, New York City Unincorporated Business tax return in ProConnect Tax

Select the applicable set of instructions below for assistance with generating Form NYC-202 in the Individual return:

  1. Go to Input Return ⮕ Income ⮕ Business Income (Sch C)
  2. Make sure you are in the correct business activity by clicking on the tab with the name for the Schedule C business that should flow to the NYC-202
  3. Select the State & Local tab
  4. Under the New York Miscellaneous Information section, check the box labeled New York City unincorporated business
    • Information should automatically flow to the NYC-202 from the Schedule C input screen once this input is made
  5. Go to Input Return ⮕ State & Local ⮕ Taxes
  6. Select either NYC Unincorporated Business (TP) or NYC Unincorporated Business (SP), whichever is applicable
  7. Make any applicable inputs in this screen for information that didn't flow from the schedule C input screen
  1. Go to Input Return ⮕ Income ⮕ Rental and Royalty Income (Sch E)
  2. Make sure you are in the correct business activity by clicking on the tab with the name of the applicable rental activity that should flow to the NYC-202
  3. Select the State & Local tab
  4. Under the New York Miscellaneous Information section, enter a 1 or 2 in the UBT rental: 1=inside NYC, 2=outside NYC {NY} input
    • Information should automatically flow to the NYC-202 from the Schedule E input screen
  5. Go to Input Return ⮕ State & Local ⮕ Taxes
  6. Select either NYC Unincorporated Business (TP) or NYC Unincorporated Business (SP), whichever is applicable
  7. Make any applicable inputs in this screen for information that didn't flow automatically to the NYC-202 from the Schedule E input screen
  1. Go to Input Return  ⮕ State & Local ⮕ Taxes
  2. Select either NYC Unincorporated Business (TP) or NYC Unincorporated Business (SP), whichever is applicable
  3. Make any applicable entries on this input screen
  1. Go to Input Return ⮕ State & Local ⮕ Taxes
  2. Select either NYC Unincorporated Business (TP) or NYC Unincorporated Business (SP), whichever is applicable
  3. Scroll down to the Miscellaneous/Compliance Information section
  4. Input a 2 in NYC 202S: 1=when applicable, 2=suppress [Override]
