Critical diagnostics while attempting to e-file the Unincorporated Business Tax return in ProConnect Tax Ref. 33698, 33699
by Intuit• Updated 3 months ago
One or both of these critical diagnostics are generating:
You are attempting to e-file the taxpayer's Unincorporated Business Tax return for New York City (NYC-202 TP) and the form is not part of this return. Please verify that the NYC-202 TP is part of the tax return. Ref #33698 |
You are attempting to e-file the spouse's Unincorporated Business Tax return for New York City (NYC-202 SP) and the form is not part of this return. Please verify that the NYC-202 SP is part of the tax return. Ref #33699 |
These diagnostics generate when there are no unincorporated business income items in the return, but the New York City UBT return is selected for e-file on the Profile tab.
Follow the steps based on the scenario applicable to you:
If you don't need to file a NYC UBT return
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Locate the New York City UBT (Taxpayer) or New York City UBT (Spouse).
- Uncheck the box in the Select for e-file column.
If you do need to file a NYC UBT return
See How to generate Form NYC-202 UBT for an individual. Once Form NYC-202 is generating with the return, the diagnostic will disappear.
