A 'Do Not File' watermark prints on Form 8879 and Client Copy of the tax return when sending an eSignature request in Lacerte
by Intuit• Updated 7 months ago
When creating an eSignature request, the federal and state e-file signature forms (Form 8879) and the client copy have a 'Do Not File' watermark on them. The watermark prints on the forms even if the Non-watermarked option is selected on the eSignature Forms screen.
This can occur if:
- the client SSN or Federal ID is all 9's (or)
- the 'Do Not File' watermark is enabled in the Printer Settings.
If the latter, to disable the watermark in Printer Settings:
- Select any client on the Clients tab and on your keyboard, press Ctrl+P
- In the Print Tax Return window, check the box for File (PDF) for the Client Copy.
- If this box is already checked - remove the check, then add it back.
- Select Settings in the bottom-left.
- In the File (PDF) Settings section, uncheck the box for Watermark and select OK.
- Close the Print Tax Return window by selecting Cancel.
- Try eSignature again.
