For more PTE resources, check out our dedicated Tax topics page where you'll find a list of all PTE states and the respective content for each.

Table of contents:

To claim the credit on an individual return:

  1. Go to Form K-40
  2. Enter the amount on line 26 Credit for tax paid on K-120S.

To generate PTE for partnerships and S Corporations:

  1. Open the K-120S p1.
  2. Check box N for Are you electing to be subject to tax at the entity level? or box O for Mark this box if electing to be taxed at the entity level and wishing to tax 100% of the Income for Kansas residents.
    • This calculates tax on page 2, and completes Part IV - Partners or shareholders distribution of income on page 5
  3. Open the Schedule K-1 Equivalent Worksheet.
  4. Check the Electing to pay tax on Form K-120S box for any applicable members.
