E-filing an amended business return in Lacerte

Once an amended return has been prepared, Lacerte can e-file Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065, 990, 5500, and Form 1041 (Lacerte doesn't support e-filing of Forms 706 or 709).

As with regular business returns, amended returns may only be e-filed for the current tax year and two previous years.

Follow these steps to e-file an amended business return:

1. Select E-file.
2. Select Start e-file Amended Return Wizard.
3. Select No to the Warning window.
   • Selecting Yes will cancel the e-file wizard for you to be able to make a copy of the return. Selecting No will continue to the e-file wizard.
4. Continue through the e-file wizard to e-file the amended return.
