How to resolve ProConnect Tax diagnostic ref. 4589

This article will help you resolve the following error in ProConnect Tax:

• "Form 1310: You must possess valid proof of death to e-file returns with Form 1310." (ref. #4589)

To resolve this diagnostic

1. From the Input Return tab, go to Miscellaneous Forms ⮕ Deceased Taxpayer (1310).
2. Scroll down to the Electronic Filing (1310) section.
3. Check the Taxpayer (and spouse, if married filing jointly) possesses valid proof of death box.
