How to resolve ProConnect Tax diagnostic ref. 25972 - Principal Business Code (SIC) is missing or invalid

This article will help to resolve the following diagnostic:

• "Principal Business Code (SIC) is missing or invalid. Please select the SIC code from the table." (ref. #25972)

To resolve, follow these steps:

1. From Input Return, go to State & Local ⮕ Income and Deductions ⮕ CA NOLs.
2. Select the applicable SIC (NB or ESB Loss) from the dropdown list.
