The following critical diagnostic is generating:
The employer identification number (EIN) is invalid. The firm's EIN should be nine digits, and cannot be all zeros or all nines. Check and verify the entry. (Ref #4513)
Follow these steps to resolve the diagnostic for e-filing:
- Click Settings in the lower left of the program.
- Select Firm Information.
- Click the pencil icon to edit.
- Remove your SSN from the Federal ID # field.
The Firm EIN and taxpayer SSN can't be the same number, as this will cause an e-file rejection.
