Common questions about informational diagnostics in Lacerte
by Intuit• Updated 9 months ago
Lacerte provides informational diagnostics to notify you if you’ve entered information that could affect the outcome of your return before submitting it.
What to look for when you see informational diagnostics:
- If the system flags a section of your return with an informational diagnostic, you should review it, as it could contain information the IRS or state agencies would like to convey.
- Informational diagnostics won’t cause the system to reject your return or prevent the E-File Wizard from processing it.
- If you notice a More Info icon next to a diagnostic, follow the link to find additional information related to your return.
- A checkbox will appear next to each diagnostic message. Select the checkbox after reviewing the respective section to indicate you’ve reviewed it (but know this won’t resolve the diagnostic).
