by Intuit• Updated 1 year ago
The recommended configuration for EasyACCT in a network environment is to load the program to the C: drive on each workstation as a standalone program.
- The company data files can then be shared from a dedicated server or networked computer in a peer-to-peer network.
- Data shared from a network source must be accessible at every workstation.
- The computer sharing the data must be mapped as a drive letter for the computer accessing the data.
- Permissions for the shared drive must be granted by your network administrator.
- Data shared from a network source must be accessible at every workstation.
At the workstation that will act as the network source:
- On your keyboard, press the Windows key + E.
- Click the Map network drive button at the top of the window.
- Click the Drive button and select the letter you wish to use for this connection.
- Click the Browse button and locate the folder containing the data file.
- Select this folder and click OK.
- Check the box Reconnect at logon.
- Click Finish.
- Open EasyACCT.
- At the Company Selection screen, select System, then System Utilities, and then System Characteristics.
- In the Path for Company Data field, enter the shared location (starting with the mapped drive letter followed by any folder and subfolder, such as S:\EasyW\Data) for EasyACCT data.
- Click OK.
