It's a rough time of year and it sounds like the standard operating procedure for updates. If the update fixes one problem, it generally creates another, including the disappearance of perfectly good, previous data and the flow into other schedules.
50/50 it will be corrected or restored in any update. That's when you or someone else creates a work around, so the software will do what you want and not create an override situation. It's just the Intuit way of doing things. I hope it will be corrected for you, and if it negatively effects enough preparers, the complaints will increase and maybe get some results.
