I support this suggestion. If we have to change something on a state, but not a federal return (or vice versa). Or, as we just had, we needed to change the electronic filing for state estimates, we need to be able to unlock, then relock a return. We don't like to copy returns, which is the recommendation in the training article on unlocking. Having multiple returns for the same period gives lots of opportunities for  human error. 

We love that returns are automatically locked when filed. It really helps avoid mistakes when we're burned out during tax season.
