It is a form that must be filed. Most of the IRS centers are closed and mail is waiting in fully loaded trucks for them to open when we get the all clear.

I believe that little error is going to greatly slow your EIP payment. You may want to find a nice little old guy tax preparer that will cut you a deal on doing this amended return, or give it a try yourself. You seem smart enough to figure out this site, so you can likely do you your own 1040x form.
