That was an impressive statement for the CEO, but I am going to have to sit here for a while to try and figure out what he said.

I thought when we were kids we were warned about autonomous, done-for-you experiences.

Being needed, and being used, are two different questions.  

taxgpt promotes itself as the right call for instant answers. This is an email I received today:

I must have been sick the day that they explained that to us in college.

I tend to get a lot of wrong answers when Al answers my questions.  Google is still a better friend to me than Al is.

I just feel that AI needs to be destroyed asap. 

Computers are doing the same thing they were doing 100 years ago.  On and off switches.  Ones and zeroes.  They have no intelligence other than that of the programmers.  The difference is that they run faster now, because intelligent people are also designing faster chips.  Nothing artificial about any of this intelligence, and those who are afraid of progress should remember the Luddites.  

If a machine gives you wrong answers because of imperfections needing to be fixed by programmers, some people want to shut it down.  If a human gives you wrong answers because voters are gullible, he gets elected.
