I know, it’s a day late, but so was my backup after I had to wait until my computer was repaired. I recently moved to a new office, and in the confusion my friend the volunteer hardware installer used a burnt-out UPS (uninterrupted power supply) that had remained at the old office because, have you ever tried to dispose of one? And I didn’t notice. A power surge Thursday afternoon fried the “fuse” in the mini-PC that protects the mother board, and I was lucky to find someone Friday to fix it overnight.

My New Year’s resolution now is to find the best way to automatically backup my data to the cloud, on a regular basis. Suggestions are welcome.

December 13, of course, is not only Taylor Swift’s birthday (age 36), but the birthday of Dick Van **bleep**, who turned 100. He used to have a home here in the Phoenix area, and the story that was told is that it did not have a kitchen. Because, all the meals were catered. I’m not sure that’s true, but it seems like an admirable goal in life.
