I haven't had this issue because we are still using the old version.  But I just wanted to comment on your statement that IT says it's Microsoft fault due to an update.  If that's the case, why does the old program work just fine?  Seems fishy to me.  I appreciate the IT team is working hard to correct issues, but gosh, total transparency would be FANTASTIC instead of leaving us all in the dark as to what to do next!
