sometimes on a non resident return they tax all income then compute the tax as a % of that states income vs total income....have you followed the money through the Iowa return to see how its computing the tax?
(for example, if you had 100,000 total income but on 50,000 was from Iowa, they may compute tax on the 100,000 but then only charge 50% of that total tax)

On General > Client Info:
- Choose TX for Resident State as of 12/31;
- Check the box for Full Year Resident?
- Check the box for Multi-State Return?

Did you look at what IA 126 is showing? That's where the NR income is shown and prorata tax computed.
