How can I fix a rejected return that keeps submitting as amended even though it was never originally accepted

I have a return that has been rejected 3 times because it keeps including a 1040x in the submission packet when there was never an original submission accepted. I have tried creating and submitting a new return, but the rejection is still saying an amendment can't be processed because they haven't received the original filing.

Is the 1040X clicked on the first screen for e-filing? Is there anything filled in on the 1040X? When you go to preview the return is the 1040X showing as a form?

Look for check boxes in the Profile.

I have made sure the only boxes checked are the main return boxes. (The top boxes for both the federal and state return under the profile section.)
