Need to file Form 114 electronically, but cannot file Form 1040 electronically due to zero total income, AGI and tax. So I cannot check the 1040 electronic box.

When I have a client with no taxable income, and need to efile, I just add $1.00 bank interest. I use ProSeries Pro, but should work for you also

Form 114 is not Form 1040, so there should be a different e-file check box.

As @Accountant-Man said ( at least in ProSeries) there is a check box to efile form 114, and a separate box to check for the 1040

I decided not to create a $1 interest income entry.
I learned from Intuit support that I need to check the efile boxes in the Profile for both the form 1040 and the form 114; even though the 1040 will be paper-filed. This worked. In the e-file screen, only the form 114 shows as available to be efiled. Intuit should have a diagnostic to that effect. Thanks to all for you comments.
