Lines 8 or 9 do not apply.  I am receiving diagnostic for Form 4868 Reject: Form 4868 can only be filed on or before the original due date to which the extension applies, unless Line 8 checkbox or Line 9 checkbox is checked. If Line 8 checkbox or Line 9 checkbox is checked, then Form 4868 can only be filed on or before the extended due date for taxpayers out of the country. US - Ref #58845.

Form 4868 was prepared and filed timely, so noted in "Extensions filed", and paid by ACH from taxpayer's bank account on 4/15/2025.  My problem is I can't find a input field to report the payment other than as 4th quarter estimate paid 4/15/2025.

Look at Profile, if there is a check mark for Extension, remove it. The extension has already been filed, per your statement

Thank you so much for the clarification. I did not notice the Extension option on the estimated payments where I posted the payment instead when I could not find an extension override option. Removing extension tick mark in profile did remove the diagnostic.  I changed the estimated payment to extension payment.  The 4868 shows the amount of tax as calculated for the final return rather than 4/8/2025 original 4868 but the payments are shown on page two correctly.  For future reference why doesn't a search for the diagnostic #58845 populate a description/solution on support system?
