I was flabbergasted to find out today that Intuit ProConnect software does not transfer data from completed returns to a new amended return. You have to start the return over from scratch. It will only import historical data from the prior year. Every other software I've ever used, including big commercial software like Jackson Hewitt and H&R Block, has this function. Why doesn't yours? Why are you charging so much for a software that doesn't have basic functions? This is very basic. I am sure I am not the only accountant to find this extremely inconvenient and time consuming for no reason. If you can transfer prior year data why can't you transfer completed return data in the same year? Make it make sense.

I'm not sure what you did but when you tell the system that you are amending a return, it does copy it over (current year included - just did one) and saves and locks a copy of the original. That way you work on the amend and don't have to pay for a new return when you get ready to print it and send it.

I think @kblasingame did not Read, Follow and Understand the instructions. https://accountants.intuit.com/support/en-us/help-article/amend-tax-return/amend-individual-return-1...
FYI I give full credit to the words on Norm Abrams https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0184144/characters/nm0009092
