My client's direct debit payment did not occur on the date scheduled (yesterday) 4/15/2024.
I checked my payment and it didn't come out either. All the information appears correctly entered, and the "FinTransSummary" shows a direct debit with the date listed as 4/15/2024 to be debited.
Has anyone experienced this before? Will it be deducted in a few days, or is there a larger issue? Do I advise my clients with a balance due to pay directly?

I'm getting at least a week's float by mailing my 4868 and check to a lockbox 1800 miles away.
People were complaining about delayed direct debits this time last year, too. Remember how Treasury couldn't send so many checks all at once, so some of the rebates were paid with debit cards? The daily limits must work the other way, too.

Thank you so much George! I found it. It's little too late this time because the return has e-filed. I had to make the payment via IRS website. But I will know what to do next time.
There is so much to learn. I wish there is easier way to learn.
Have a great day!

@Sarah Huang Hopefully you also learned from this thread that the default payment date is the due date for the tax return. You can select an earlier date.

Yes, George! Your mentor is really appreciative! I love that. As a new user of ProConnect and a new Enrolled Agent who is trying to start a business, your support means a lot to me!
Thank you so much again George!

Sarah, this community is great at helping out newbies ( 'cuz we all were at some stage 😉)
Don't ever spin your wheels, ask away here - altho there aren't as many PTO users.
And we *really* appreciate your attitude. Too many times there isn't a 'thank you'.
What state do you practice in?
