As in past years completing Form 990, the depreciation is just entered on the Statement of Functional Expenses. Diagnostics won't let me e-file the California return. It says:

Form 3885 or 3885F must be generating with the return to qualify for electronic filing. Please remove the override or file this return as a conventional paper return. Due to the CA Business e-file mandate, you must request and file a Business Entity e-file waiver. Ref #60267

I can't figure out how to generate this. Since Federal Form 4562 isn't required for Form 990, I don't think it's triggering the 3885F to generate. Removing the depreciation override in the Func Expenses just makes it $0 and throws my whole 990 off.

I am having the same issue. Can't e-file the CA 199 without the CA Form 3885. It seems that ProConnect does not support the e-filing of this form.

Can we get confirmation on this from Intuit? This truly is a silly limitation.

Try disabling the efile error & file away (it worked previously with Lacerte).

ProConnect only has the option to "ignore" the error. When I do this, I am prompted with the message that "Ignoring the diagnostic will likely result in an e-file rejection".

Any other suggestions?

Run with scissors and try efiling anyway.

LOL! I guess I could roll the dice and see.

If the CA return gets rejected, I could remove the entries in the depreciation screen moving the depreciation expense from its dedicated line on the statement of functional expenses and list it under the other deductions to still tie out to arrive at the same result - sans the depreciation form 3885.
