I am a US resident (green card holder, acquired thru marriage) and an EU citizen currently living in Austria. I have applied for a re-entry permit but it has been more than one year and I have no news from IRS (which is normal, I understand). Since I will be staying in Europe for at least two years, most probably I will lose my green card (or the ability to re-enter the US even though the green card will be valid) Any ideas of what will happen to the savings and brokerage accounts I have in the US? Should I rather move all my investments and savings to Europe?
