This is an easy question.  You can't.

This is something that was brought up to Intuit a number of years back and highlighted repeatedly.  There are those of us who would like to retain copies of client correspondence but Intuit doesn't seem to think that's important.

Once upon a time, when we were still using Link, we would send those messages via email instead just so that we would have copies of the correspondence.
