I am getting a CA reject saying: A negative loss is not allowed for capital assets on Schedule D. I have confirmed that the loss is shown correctly ($1,500 loss) on both the Fed 1040 and the CA 540 D. I don't see anything incorrect. Anyone else have this issue?

You are using a double negative. Either you have a loss or you have a gain. A negative loss would be a gain. I have this feeling that you input something incorrectly. All of the input should be as positive numbers.

Actually...I had already checked that and it was not the case.
However, I did find the issue: I had a miscellaneous Adj to the cost which I entered as a positive number but the program carried it to the CA 540 D as a negative in the loss column. I had to actually enter the number with a negative symbol in order to push it correctly to the CA 540 D.
