I often work on a client's 1040 and 1120S at the same time. But then if there is a change that needs to be made on the 1120S I have to go back and adjust all the numbers in the 1040 manually. Is there a way to connect the business and personal return so that it comes in automatically as changes are made?

I don't think so and I sure hope not. To me, messing with a business return and having the 1040 automatically change sounds a little like playing with fire.
