Doesn't the FAFSA work off prior year return. So completing this years FAFSA would use 2020 tax return.
But maybe you are trying to file a 2020 tax return.

Actually (at least it was this way a couple of years ago) you could do an estimated FASFA off the prior return but then you had to update it for the current year. Although the last one I did, i am not aware that we had to provide proof of e-file.
