I can't locate the button to check the unpaid preparer box.

I don't recall being able to make that selection on any returns other than individual's.
Had a partnership that I was a partner in and prepared (unpaid) where I printed it out and mailed it in so that I could remove the paid preparer information.

I think you can stick XNP in the Preparer Code box on a 1065 for non paid preparer...Ive never even looked at a 990 though, I dont know what options it has.

@David43616 scroll down to Part X on the Information worksheet, and put XNP in the Preparer Code box..does that accomplish what you need?

Paper filing is not an option for the 990. If Lisa's suggestion doesn't work you may just have to show yourself as a paid preparer.
The more I know, the more I don't know.
