Is anyone else having an issue with putting the $300 on the 1040, line 10B. It has been working fine until today, now it will not allow the 300 to be entered on the first line, it turns pink and says value must be equal to zero.
The 300 is carried to the second 10b line just fine and the deduction is calculated on the 1040 on line 10c, but I can't get rid of the first pink line, making e-filing impossible. An update screw up?

Are itemized deductions more than the standard with the charity added? Works fine for me.
Be sure youre on the 1040/1040SR worksheet, not the actual 1040.

It's a MFJ with standard deduction, nothing on schedule A and yes, I'm using the worksheet since there is no other way, to my knowledge, to enter it. Makes no sense.

do they have zero taxable income before the charity deduction? nooo, that doesnt do it, I was trying to see if I could make it give me the error. If you enter it on Sch A does it flow correctly?

Thanks for that suggestion, I put it on Schedule A as a type C cash donation and the pink box went away on the 1040 worksheet so it's good to go. 🙂
