How do I electrically file a 1040X for 2020--I already filed their original return?

I tried to file electronically and was told that the social security number was a duplicate and I cannot file.

How do I circumvent that--to file?

Do you have the box checked to Efile the 1040X?

You MUST use the original file for the 1040X, you cant use a copy...so if youve ended up with 2 copies of the file in the EFCenter, youre going to have a problem. Get rid of the copy and use the original file as the amended.
