I had to reinstall Proseries 2020.  The previous install had updated/edited client letter.   What file(s) do I need to copy into the new proseries?

The letter files are located in ProWinXX\Common for a Standalone install and are:

  • FdiLtr.ltr
  • FdiLtr.rtf

Those are the 1040 letters.

So there is more than just one file for each of those extensions.   I should copy and paste them all, I imagine.

I don't see any rtf extensions in the file name but some files are Rich Text Format files.   for files having "ltr" in its name, there are word files and some with no extensions. A few with BAK  I should copy and paste those as well, I would imagine....

There should be:

  • fdiLtr.ltr  the icon looks like bank windows file
  • fdiLtr.rtf  are the rich text format
  • fdiLtr.data stores the list of all your letters
  • fdildi.ini  is the configuration file 

 

  • CPC are corporate
  • SPS S corp
  • PTP Partnerships
