I will try this again. The issue still remains. Form 1041 Schedule D needs to be corrected. For the first asset, it is showing an error when the acquisition date is Inherited (even when the drop down "inherited from decedent is selected). For the second asset, Inherited is accepted without error for the acquisition date. When can a correction be expected?

As we are just fellow software users, you will need to contact technical support to report any programing errors.

I thought the powers that be are supposed to monitor this. Who has hours to burn trying to get through to their Tech support?

Sometimes Intuit employees show up here. Sometimes they'll take action on something.
But not as a matter of course.
The more I know the more I don’t know.

Here's a work-a-round that will clear the error and still get Inherited on the 8949.
Date Acquried: Date of Death
Type of transaction: A
The holding period will default to long and on the 8949, Inherited will appear 8949.
Even if the time between DoD and Date Sold, the Holding Period will still be long.
