CLient's dependent (child) does not have social security and is not a US citizen. We applied for ITIN number and we filed a paper tax return with the W7.
IRS rejected the W7 stating that there should be a checkmark on 'Credit for Other Deps' on 1040 (in dependent section). It seems we can not override that field and would like to know how can I put a check mark there. Also, will it calculate the $500 credit for the kid?

Since it is a paper return, how about using a pen?
The more I know the more I don’t know.
