i am trying to convert a return for a 2019 return. it will not convert. i updated and refreshed
pro series. no errors, return failed to convert. i've tried several times

If by "convert" you mean e-file it... E-filing for individual returns is closed down (by the IRS) until later this month.

I wonder if your problem relates to the IRS shutting down individual e-filing until later this month. You would think Intuit could have alerted folks to this issue.
