Hi I got this error: "Each dependent in 'DependentDetail' on the return with 'EligibleForChildTaxCreditInd' checked must be under the age of 17. You may be eligible to claim the "Credit for other dependents" if you meet the requirements for the credit. "

All information is accurate ssn, date of birth, etc. The child is also 16. What could be wrong?

You have the birth certificates for the kids? 

Either you have the year of birth wrong or the Social Security Administration has the year of birth wrong.

Hi Lisa,

 

Thank you! I just found out the client gave me the wrong year of birth ever since. It became an issue now that she turned 17 late last year.
