Should not have to override, did you double click on name of charity on schedule A to enter info
On the Contrib Wks (nameofcharity) in Part VII "Charity's Use of Certain Appreciated Property" change the check box for question 14 to "yes"
That should change the For 8283

the default for that question is "NO" You should not have to make any entries on the 8283
