Yep...way back in May. It was (as usual..) a big topic of conversation.
Here is just one of them:

Thanks for the reply. It must have slipped by me at that time. The price increases for this year are steep for anyone, but definitely have a larger impact on the smaller tax practices. Too bad. I've dealt with Intuit products for 30+ years with Qbooks, TurboTax, ProSeries. Their attitude towards their client base is "fairly take it or leave it". So I guess we just have to choose if there are other software solutions to our businesses. Thanks again.

I don't disagree - and this same conversation happens EVERY year. I use Lacerte, and I'm too old to switch. But the cost is getting exorbitant.

Understood on not wanting to go through a change, but it appears they have annually been placing a lot of us tax preparers (and long term loyal customers) in a position that it might be a good strategy to review options. The ability to migrate to other comparable software products is better than in prior years. I believe its going to be worth the effort even though the "I'm too old to switch" comment applies to me as well!!

I guess I consider both of you "lucky" with 5% increases. My increase this year is 17.25%. I have to believe this is not correct, but at this point... who knows what Intuit's strategy is on pricing for these basic tax software products. Do they just take a portion of the customer base and increase them well beyond reasonable to determine their loss impact??

No unfortunately I've been a ProSeries user since 2012. I fully understand annual increases and do not believe I'm unrealistic in my expectations for a lot lesser increase. But in attempting to make my case with them (and in seeing my peers who received approx. 5% increases this year), they can only say the adjustment is to match the market rates that exist. A 17.25% increase on anything deserves a better explanation than that. And this increase includes my auto renewal adjustment/discount. Something definitely does not make sense.

Level of service is Basic. No frills and again, a consistent user of the software since 2012.

For those of us that have been hanging around this place for a lot of years, this kind of post is an annual thing that is usually seen when Intuit sends out their renewal notices in late April or early May. Since ProSeries offers several different packages, not everyone's increase is necessarily the same. Out of curiosity what kind of increase did you see this year?
