Is there any way to keep the Designee telephone number to not appear on Form 1040?

not that I can see. You can remove your paid preparer phone number, but it will give you a pink error on the Info worksheet for 3rd party,
Im sure it wouldnt preclude EFiling so you could just bypass error checking if you want to EF without any phone number in there.

If the preparer is the individual designated to speak with the IRS, their phone number must appear in the "Third Party Designee" section of Form 1040.
