I'm curious, will the system accept resubmitting the extension after the 15th? Or do you need to mail in the extension with the payment with a copy of the rejection attached?

Some states only accept an extension if money is being included, could CT be one of those states?

Lisa...your reply: Some states only accept an extension if money is being included
Meaning the extension is automatic if a refund is due?

I had a client (my daughter....I give her a 1% discount because I'm a great Dad) who needed to file a state extension but not a federal. She owed $1 and the extension was accepted and the $1 was debited. Kind State. I assume the extension would have been processed had she not owed. That's why I asked the question.

I'm sure that the penalty for late payment on $1 wouldn't have been large enough that she would have had to ask you to loan her the money 😁
A word of advice though. Don't go telling anybody else about that 1% discount or your clients will be coming in with their Ancestry.com DNA reports saying they are actually related to you - 123 times removed - and want their family 1% discount.
