E-filed a return yesterday that was rejected. The taxpayer apparently needs a PIN, which they say they never received!!!! Since you don't receive a PIN in one day, my question is can I file an extension without a PIN?
It's always these clients that ruin the last day off tax season!! Yippee

Is it PIN or an IPPIN?
PIN is super easy, IPPIN takes a few more steps
The PIN is just a number - Pick one - I like zip codes. If you click on the error check it should take you to the pin in you Information Sheet screen
Answers are easy. Questions are hard!

80+ y/o client e-file was rejected due to missing identity theft Pin. Swore he never applied for one. Still owns a flip-phone and no computer. I've heard from other practitioners the same horror story. Sometime in the near future I'm going to look to see if there is an opt-out of these Pins.
