Good morning,
I have a new client who receives two pensions. One of her own, and one from her deceased husband. On the paper form, the document requires the taxpayer to indicate who she received the pension from with prior owner's birthdate. On ProSeries, I can't find this requirement.
Hoping a Michigan preparer may have more experience with this situation.
Twenty-five days to go!

You can't inherit your own pension. You can start collecting your own pension.
You can inherit someone else's pension. Then you get to collect it, perhaps take a lump sum, etc.

And people complain about my answers being unhelpful. There is a "Pension Deduction Worksheet" where you enter that information. You get there from a "Quick Zoom" about 2/3 of the way down on the Schedule 1 input page. There's a place to answer questions about "Unremarried Survivor of Spouse Deceased Before 2024."
