what do you mean Indiana does not do anything for the client? 

If the program is populating it and wont let you remove it, then it must be required.

Any chance the taxpayer lives in Indiana?  

If at first you don’t succeed…..find a workaround

I think if I file the state 1st before I file the federal return that can solve the problem. I will try it when I have a client for that state.

I think you may be right since Indiana is one of the toughest state to deal with state tax return.

Yes, they do. I never deal with a lot of state tax returns but this year I end up having a lot of client that’s from Indiana.
