FEDERAL FINAL REVIEW POPS UP "KIDDIE TAX" WITH TAXPAYER LISTED AS CHILD.... AND THE CAPITAL GAINS FROM SCHEDULE D, LISTED AS CHILD'S INCOME ON FORM 8615.
ANYBODY HAVING THIS EXPERIENCE? ALREADY ON SECOND CALL WITH PROSERIES... AFTER FIRST REP TAP DANCED AROUND THE PROBLEM AND DID NOTHING. SECOND REP HAD ME SANITIZE FILE,,, STILL WAITING FOR THE GENIUSES WHO PROGRAMED THE SOFTWARE TO COME UP WITH SOMETHING. NOW AN HOUR AND 5 MINUTES ON SECOND CALL

Did you read the instructions for Form 8615? Particularly Who Must File? Either it is correct or you have incorrect input.
And is this the issue you have been trying to get Support to handle?
Many times we volunteers here can help - quicker and better than Support.

Did you check the box indicating someone is claiming your taxpayer, like a parent? I think you need to provide more info if you are asking if the program is incorrect. It may very well be correct. Or, as mentioned above, you may have your input wrong.

Is he a student? It's not just for kiddies anymore. "The tax applies to dependent children under the age of 18 at the end of the tax year (or full-time students younger than 24)"

check one of the 2 boxes at the top of the form - that is probably the issue. Also if they were a dependent last year confirm you unchecked those boxes. I believe this goes to age 24.
