I have finished Form 8936, claiming the $7,500 credit as instructed for a taxpayer, but the credit is not reflecting in the calculation tax liability. I've carefully reviewed my entries on Form 8936 and double checked all supporting documentation to ensure accuracy. However, the software still doesn't showing the credit. Could you suggest potential reasons why the credit isn't appearing and what further steps I should take to resolve this discrepancy? I am concern about the accuracy of taxpayer return if this credit isn't properly reflected. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Last year I remember people struggling to get the credit to compute, I havent had one yet to have a chance to see how the form works this year. Without a valid VIN I dont think I can dummy up that form and see if it works or not.

So the software must be able to check the VIN, before you finish the return? I wonder what else it checks. Any warrants out for the SSN? Law enforcement shows up at your office unexpectedly . . .
