I have a client that received disability in 2024 and had repaid a large portion 16000 in January 2025. Can this be claimed on Schedule A for 2024 or do we have to wait and claim it in 2025?
if it was repaid in 2025, it goes on the 2025 return. Pub 525, Page 37, Repayments will explain your options.
