Basically what it says above. Client's husband I guess had a brain fart and didn't realize being married in 2024 doesn't affect his return.
I've never had this situation so I'm wondering if filing an extension this way will raise some kind of flag if he files a return as single. I know that's what they're doing, but I just want to be prepared for whatever comes and fully advise.

does a 4868 even have a filing status on it?

That's what I was wondering, it's not even clear to me what format the IRS receives the 4868 or what is contained. It sounds like there should be no issue so thanks for your help.
