In the MFJ return, top menu bar File > Split into MFS
That keeps the MFJ return and gives you 2 more MFS files.

PS doesn't do this with states, but have you ever seen the federal MFJ vs MFS comparison worksheet?
It misses a few items like AMT and foreign tax credit, but it is otherwise helpful.
